Today’s #FunDataFriday article is about the Grace Hopper conference.
What Is It?
Grace Hopper Celebration is the world's largest gathering of women technologists. It is produced by AnitaB.org. This year 20 thousand women in tech descended upon the Orlando convention center to share, learn, support and inspire each other. I am currently flying out from my first ever Grace Hopper experience, and is was fabulous
Why Is It Awesome?
The Grace Hopper conference is a great experience for female techies, including data geekettes. This week I was able to participate in their rich and diverse data science track. I attended sessions on topics ranging from real-time event streaming, to low latency analytics at scale to data visualization for the visually impaired.
Using the gtrendsR package, I was able to see that #GHC19 achieved the highest Google search hits in the past 5 years!

There are many scholarship and funding opportunities available both through the Grace Hopper organization and other communities.
